Artist Statement:
For this Logo Project, I decided to take my initials and mimic how I write my signature on physical paper. I have always drawn an uppercase cursive letter "A" in the shape of a star so I modeled the shape of the letter "A" in the logo after it. In the original design, I used the pen tool to draw and fill each line but after attending class, professor suggested that I type and shape the letters with certain fill colors. I did not originally think of typing out the letters, but I do believe the final product looks better than the original, as a piece of final art typically does look better than the draft. Finding a way to separate the colors after typing the letters was the most difficult part. I decided to use a black stroke on the white fill parts of the letters, because the white fill with the white stroke, made that section of the letter disappear, which did not look like letters. Prior to this assignments, I had minimal knowledge of how to use any of the tools in illustrator, so I do think the final product is a good representation of the image I had in my head.
