Blog #13 - Anim HW 1

 Ava Farrelly

Find 3 tutorial videos that are about Frame by Frame animation in Photoshop for beginners. Watch the videos. It is optional if you follow along. Write down any questions you may have so we can discuss in class.

In your Blog:

- imbed the videos with included link

- under each video write 1-2 paragraphs if you think which tool/tools will be easy or hard to use, how you might use it and what you find interesting about the video.

1.Photoshop Animation Tutorial: Frame by Frame Character Walkwww.youtube.com › watch

The move tool with auto select will be the best to use when drawing across animations, as we can see originally what was there and still be able to proceed with what needs to be drawn.

Motion has to have a change in imagery according to this video, so I think it will be difficult to remember how to click/drag contact groups in order to duplicate across layers. I watched this portion of the video more than once, as hearing/watching it was beginning to be confusing, this is why I think it will be difficult to remember.

I think moving between frames will be used the most as it shows the progress and allows for multiple things to be viewed and remained accurate. It also helps save time so we do not have to redraw and erase things multiple times.

This vide was the second longest of the three videos I found for this assignment. The speaker went slow and was extremely clear in where certain buttons were on the screen and what those buttons were responsible for. I thought it was interesting how the speaker showed that you can duplicate across layers instead of drawing the same thing over and over across multiple layers.

2.How To Create Frame Animation (GIF or VIDEO) In Photoshopwww.youtube.com › watch

Pressing the "play" when shifting from layer to layer to show the playback speed of the gif will be the easiest and most used tool.

There were a few tools that he used that are not shown on the Mac/Laptop version of photoshop, so those tools will be harder for me to learn as I don't see them every time I use photoshop.

This was the longest video of the three that I picked for this assignment. The speaker had a unique accent that was hard to follow, but he was easy to follow and knew what he was talking about. The most interesting to me was the images with which he was chasing to work with. His photoshop style was extremely different from the other two videos I watched.

3.How To Create Frame By Frame Animations in Photoshopwww.youtube.com › watch

The easiest tool for me to use will be the brush tool across layers to reset the color swatches in multiple frames at a time. This will allow for me to be able to trace things from previous frames onto the next ones while adjusting the opacity and the visibility.

The hardest tool for me to use based on this video will be the visibility of colors across layers, as there were a few terms the speaker used that I did not recognize.

I understood how to make groups through duplications of layers. Renaming the layers of the art is important in remaining organized, as it helps us see what we have done and what still needs to be done.

This was the shortest video of the three videos I chose. This was a simple and short video, but the speaker was specific and went fast when explaining how to create a simple and small animation. The most interesting part was how he was able to explain so much in such short amount of time, and the directions were extremely clear.
